Our mission is to connect NYC's vibrant South Asian diaspora with meaningful cultural experiences, while helping event organizers reach an engaged, culturally-aligned audience.

We are not a public directory. Every event is reviewed.

We are proud to support and host the performing arts - in particular touring comedians, and women-run businesses and performances.

Curated means we don't list every event that comes our way. Our editorial team reviews each submission based on:

• Cultural relevance: Does it serve the South Asian community without excluding anyone?
• Quality standards: Is it professionally organized with proper venue and production values?
• Audience fit: Will our readers be genuinely interested?
• Authenticity: Does it represent the culture respectfully?

This selective approach means when something appears on Bollywood.NYC, our audience knows it's worth their time and money.

We reserve the right to decline events at our discretion. We do not host events that are faith-based or aligned with any political ideology.

Our primary focus is on the five boroughs of New York City and its immediate vicinity, though we also showcase arena-level events and expos in Westchester, Long Island, and Northern NJ.

We offer three placement tiers designed for different goals and budgets:

Calendar Listing: Basic placement in our events calendar with thumbnail, date, venue, and ticket link. Best for recurring events or those with smaller budgets.

Featured Placement (Most Popular): Premium treatment with a dedicated event page, homepage card display, gallery images, and organizer profile. Ideal for major events that deserve spotlight attention.

Spotlight Takeover: Maximum visibility with full-width hero poster, homepage takeover, social media promotion, and newsletter feature. Reserved for landmark events and exclusive launches.

If you're a paid partner, being featured alongside Editor's Picks elevates your event by association—our audience knows we only feature quality, whether paid or editorial.

Spotlight Takeover:

• Hero poster: 2400 x 900px (8:3 ratio), JPG, max 800KB
• All Featured assets listed above

Complete image specifications and templates are provided after booking. We also offer asset creation assistance for an additional fee.

We're here to help! If your submitted artwork doesn't meet our technical or quality standards, we'll:

• Provide specific feedback on what needs to be adjusted (dimensions, file size, resolution, etc.)
• Offer guidance on how to fix the issues
• Give you time to resubmit corrected assets
• Work with you to find solutions that work for both parties
• Decline placement until our standards are met

For Featured and Spotlight placements, we also offer professional design assistance for an additional fee. Our team can create optimized assets from your raw materials (photos, logos, text) to ensure your event looks its absolute best.

No, dedicated event pages are only included with Featured Placement and Spotlight Takeover packages.

Calendar Listing provides basic visibility in our events grid with small thumbnail, date, time, venue, and a direct link to your ticketing page. This is perfect for simpler events like brunches or comedians who are just starting their journey.

Featured Placement and Editor's Pick provides enhanced visibility in our events grid with larger thumbnail, event description, date, time, venue, and a direct link to your ticketing page. This is perfect for comparitively larger events or those who already have a strong web presence.

Spotlight Takeover includes a full event page on Bollywood.NYC with detailed description, gallery images, organizer profile, venue information, and all event details. This creates a comprehensive landing page that builds trust and drives ticket sales.

Payment is simple and secure:

1. Submit your event via our contact form
2. We review your submission (typically within 24-48 hours)
3. Receive an invoice or payment link with package details and pricing
4. Pay online via credit card or ACH transfer
5. Your event goes live within 48 hours of payment confirmation

We accept all major credit cards, and ACH transfers for larger packages. Payment is due before your event is published.

Refund policy:

• Before publication: Full refund if you cancel before your event goes live
• Within 72 hours of publication: 50% refund available
• After 72 hours of publication: No refunds, but credit toward future events

Event cancellations: If your event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (venue closure, performer cancellation, etc.), we'll work with you on a case-by-case basis to either:

• Provide credit toward a rescheduled event
• Apply credit to a different event
• Offer a partial refund based on placement duration used

We're reasonable people — if something goes wrong, reach out and we'll find a fair solution.

Yes! You can upgrade your placement at any time, subject to availability.

How it works:

• Contact us to request an upgrade
• We'll provide a quote for the difference between tiers
• You'll receive credit for time already used in your current placement
• Pay the difference and we'll upgrade your event within 48 hours

Example: If you book Calendar Listing but ticket sales are strong and you want more visibility, you can upgrade to Featured Placement. We'll calculate the time you've already used and apply that credit toward your Featured package.

Note: Spotlight Takeover placements are limited and subject to availability. We recommend booking Spotlight early if you know you'll want maximum visibility.

No, we do not guarantee ticket sales. Bollywood.NYC is a discovery and promotion platform, not a ticket reseller or guarantor.
